How To Avoid The 5 Biggest Mistakes Most People Make When Choosing An Orthodontist!”

Plus, What Every Parent Must Know Before Their Child Gets Braces..

Dear Friend,

If you or one of your family members or your child is considering getting braces but you’re not sure how to find the right dentist to go to or have lots of unanswered questions then you’re going to love this report!

My name is Dr. Prasad and I’m an Orthodontist that specializes in helping people achieve beautifully aligned, straight teeth in the fastest time possible!

Apart from being aesthetically unpleasant misaligned teeth cause improper bites and lead to headaches, sore jaw muscles, cracked teeth, and even tooth decay over time.

Braces are a common solution for crooked teeth and misaligned jaws.  But before you go in for any procedure make sure to find an experienced Orthodontist you can trust with one of your most precious assets… your smile! This is where I come in. I’m about to tell you everything you need to know to before planning to get braces.

Important ‘Screening’ Questions You MUST Ask When Choosing An Orthodontist!”

An Orthodontist is a dental specialist that diagnoses, prevents, and corrects misaligned teeth and jaws. They are specialized education and training in the field of orthodontics.  Try to find an Orthodontist who is willing to see you for an initial free consultation. They should be able to evaluate your needs and decide on a plan that will give you the best results.

Before you meet the specialist get your home work done and go with a prepared list of questions. Here are some of the questions that you need answer to:

How long have you been a practicing Orthodontist?

Are you a member of the Indian Academy of Orthodontics?

Can you give me a rough idea of how many patients you’ve treated?

What types of financing are available? Do you have a payment plan option available?

Do you offer a variety of braces? If so, which ones? (More on this in a moment…)

“The Essentials You NEED To Know about Braces…“

Before going in for orthodontic treatment make sure that you learn all about braces.

There are generally four types of braces available

  • Metal braces made of stainless steel
  • Ceramic braces made of ceramic and are almost transparent in color
  • Invisible braces are clear plastic removable slides
  • Lingual braces are attached to the back of the teeth making them completely unnoticeable

You can select the best option for you after discussing with your orthodontist.

Another Small, But Important Thing To Remember…”

The most common mistake people make is they don’t have their teeth cleaned before they get their braces on. Your teeth need to be professionally cleaned by a dentist several weeks before the procedure. In spite of that I always recommend that my patients brush and floss thoroughly on the day of the procedure which provides a nice clean surface to work with!

On application of braces your teeth may feel a little sore for a few days. You may also feel an unusual pressure on your teeth for a few weeks which will go off after 2-3 weeks.

“How Your Life Will Change After You Get Braces…”

People usually believe that they would have many restrictions on their eating habits. This is a misconception. The truth is you can eat just about anything you like!

There are a few exceptions though, like instead of biting into apples you can cut it into pieces, or you can have dental work-friendly sugarless gum, and avoid chewy candies like caramel, gummy bears, and things like this. This is because sticky foods can clog the wires that hold your braces in place and can potentially pull the brackets out of place!

If you have metal or ceramic braces it very important to keep up a thorough cleaning routine as food can get stuck in them. That’s the reason I recommend to all of my patients with braces to use an orthodontic toothbrush along with Interdental cleaning devices.

Braces Removal

Removal of Braces usually takes only a few minutes and is painless.

“The Big Mistake People Make When Choosing A Orthodontist…”

Okay, now that you know a little bit about braces, you need to make sure you pick an Orthodontist that can accommodate you.  So how do you do that?

The steps in choosing an Orthodontist are pretty much the same as that of choosing a Cosmetic Dentist detailed in the section “How to Avoid the 5 Big Mistakes People Make While Choosing a Dentist”

“How To Make Sure Your Teeth Will Get The Very Best Care (And The Very Best Results!)…”

Orthodontic Treatment is becoming more and more affordable than ever which is reason enough to correct crooked teeth. Also, there is a wide range of braces and treatments to choose from for straightening teeth and aligning the jaw.

But the priority is to find a qualified and experienced orthodontist who has the expertise and knowledge along with the right facilities to meet your needs.
